I love this game but i think more stuff should be added like new races^^.
i know this would affect the advantage triangle between the three races existing. But i think i would be a great idea and the game would be even more awesome.

PS:i will edit this post with some race ideas if you reply.

It would be difficult to add more races without disrupting balance between the current races, but I think that that "converting" special abilities are a bit of a gimmick anyways. They never are of much use in combat unless the enemy is foolish enough to let you get an engineer/infector/assimilator close to your infantry without killing it.
If there is a new race, we could just leave out the conversion ability and maybe give the healer unit some other ability, such as a "mimic" ability that lets the unit look and act like (take the stats of) a nearby unit. For instance, if the unit gets close to a Tank it could become a Tank, looking like a tank and acting like a Tank except for the ability to heal nearby units and to convert back to its regular form. This would probably have to be an air unit so it could mimic sea units when flying over water or land units when flying over land.

I'd honestly like to have both the Rogues and the Aliens. They both sound like cool additions, and 5 races would probably be easier to balance out then 4. (At least I would think so.) With 5 races it could be a system where each race is more advantaged against 2 races, and is more disadvantaged against the other two. The same situation would apply to the conversion of units. This could also be done without changing the balance of the original 3, which I don't see happening with 4 races. Anyway this is roughly how I think it would work:

More races sound like fun.. And I think it would all be for the better! 5 Races could easily be balanced in the game (Convert 2, Get converted by 2, neutral with 1).

After a short break Im back and I really dont like what I see here.

Dont add any new races, You should work on better balance of these three and after the perfect balance will be real.. dont add any more races, because It will be really hard to balance three perfectly balanced races with a new one.

Better balance.. please!

This is why I'm suggesting adding two, not one. Five races can be balanced relatively easily, compared to four races, which I think would be difficult to balance.

Balancing the game with not be as easy as you think, because conversions are not the only factor affecting balance. The conversions are actually in place because of a strong imbalance running the other way in the rock-paper-scissors arrangement caused by the fundamental nature of the three races. If the devs are actually able to implement the advantages you describe, all in the same magnitude, then it would be balanced, but adding two new races adds 7 new matchups to be balanced on top of the current 3 (currently TS, TK, KT adding RA, RT, RS, RK, AT, AS, AK). Worse yet, any change to a race to balance one matchup could end up affecting the 3 other matchups for that race, leading to a perpetually imbalanced game. I'm not saying that imbalances are the end of the world, a "Hardcore ladder" (see thread) could fix them, but adding two new races would require a lot of work and play testing to get the balance at least close to fair.

People are a little too worried about balance IMO.
All three races are pretty well balanced now anyway.

New races or new units will take some time to balance out but would be entertaining. Meanwhile ranked matches could be made to go on without the additions until everything gets situated.

Whether its a couple new units per or new races idc but I would like to see the game expand to keep interesting.

Creator of Powerplay, Weakside, Strongside and Gap Control.

Testing FlyingV, MixNmatch, GatherRoundtheWell Give them a try!
