So you don't think I should repost this to the Khral section of the forum?

Really dislike that pesky +3 two tiles behind the attacker. Was basically made for a buryling and wyrm...

Yeah, the spot behind the attacker is perfect for Wyrms and the 90 degree spots are great for Swarmers. I get the feeling that whoever made this was thinking of Khrals. =)

This chart is awesome and has definitely changed the way I play. Thank you for posting it. One thing I've noticed though is that attacking from the same location (marauders, speeders, helis) gives a +2 also. Also, I think the spot directly behind the attacker is just +1 (although two back is +3). Do I have that right?

Have talked with the devs about gangup. +2 and +3 gangup from ranged attack is a bug... that actually has been with the game from when it was created...
It should funtion as it is described on this web page and in the game.
Will be corrected in the future.
These i got from the dev:
How it works currently
How it was orginally designed

great, two more +3 spots for wyrms.
the other difference is this claims ranged attack directly behind original attacker is only +1, not +2. Someone should confirm that. We previously confirmed that same space is +2 not +1.

team gangup and gangupbonus 2 and 3 from ranged are long time bugs in the game. The devs will at some point in the future remove these, so that current description of gangup ingame and here on the forum under "how to play" is correct.
Not clear when this will happen because it will require forced new version for all - since you cant have players playing with different version of how gangup works.

I hope they will consider to document the gangup in a different way, allowing two or three +3 bonus and some +2.
This is part of the strategy, and should not be removed.

Test my maps:

3-on-3

I have discussed this with them and they have already decided that they would want it to be easy to understand for the majority of users, and that is weighing more than the wishes of some of the higher level players.
But forcing new version by invalidating all old clients is not something they will do lightly... so i have no idea when and if this will be "fixed" back to the intended functionality.

lets make a suggestion about this, gangup 3 is too important to be left. Also, dont you think that it will kill khraleans? since sapiens never use gangup +3 and titans hardly ever does (eclipses), at the moment, you can highly damage\kill an eclipse with gangup 3 with a bug and two swarmers, this way, eclis will be unbeatable by khralean air. Dont you agree?

How about my proposal of revising gang-up bonus ?
After the first attack :
- The unit attack at range >1 from direction 90 degree or more (right angle and more behind) receive +2 bonus.
- The unit attack at range >1 from 180 degree (exactly behind) direction after the first attacker receive +3 bonus.
- The unit attack at range >1 from another directions left receive +1 bonus.
The unit perform close attack (range = 1) : Same rules but get more +1 bonus.
Thus, close combat units will receive +2 to +4 bonus.
This gang-up system is favor no race.
Because it restrict only the angle of attack. But it's not retrict range of attack.
And it's sensible. In the real world If you shoot enemies from behind, you will do more damage.
Close attack from exactly behind gain +4 bonus may seem too much.
But imagine the sword battle. When your freind throw the sword in front of the enemy.
Meanwhile you come behind the enemy and stab your sword on the enemy's back.
In this case I think +4 bonus you receive is reasonable.
