Hi guys,

I would like to make small announcement regarding new tournament - "Red Heat". It is going to be international team tournament. The first team will consists from Russian speaking players, the second team from English speaking (it shouldn't be your native language, but if you don't speak English, we won't be able to understand each other). Each team will consist of 12 players. Each player should be within range of 2000 - 2400 points (no newbies and no professionals). There will be 2 stages in this tournament.

Stage one - each player will play against 6 players from opposite team (3 red and 3 blue). Winner takes 1 point, loser 0 points. All games are sap vs sap and are played on reddanger (mars) map.
Stage two - 4 teams (3 players in each) will be formed from each side based on players performance in the first round. And we will have 4 team games on meatgrinder (winter) map.

Each player will have 24 hours to make a move, but it is recommended to make 2-3 moves per day (obviously we don't want this tournament lasts forever).
Additionally it is required to have ability to make screenshots to prove your victory.

Also be aware that this is not final version of tournament rules, something maybe changed, something extended or explained in more details but general idea looks like this.
And by the way, there is no entry fee.

Any volunteers?

What is up with the russians and sap vs sap? This is only exploring a small part of the game. Personally, this would take away most of the fun.

But in this way we have better chances to have fair combination which is also important for tournament
Plus team games are always fun

Rules were slightly modified
- ranking limit was removed
- and we plan to start on July 10th

Up-to-date version can always be found here:

Tournament tables (maybe it will be easier to understand the tournament system if something is unclear)

Don't be afraid of Russian language at top of those posts, there are English versions of rules and tournament table explanation after Russian post.

Why not do Khral-Khral or Titan-Titan? Are you biased towards humans or something?

DroidFreak, the roboticist who plays as Khrals.

(Or Titans now that I realize how legit they are)

Khral-Khral is always boring: a lot of swarmers and only swarmers
Titan-Titan - more interesting but not dynamic
Only Sap-Sap is always dynamic, interesting and difficult
