Hello, Dear UniWarriors! We are happy to announce new tournament called "Butterfly Effect" made by uniwar.ucoz.com.
You can register here. 64 player slots, so don't waste your time and register!
The tournament starts in July 20th.
The rules are simple: when you register, you choose one map (only rated maps allowed), and then this map will be added to map list. When you vote for map, it get one point. More points map have - more chances that it will be part of tournament. Top-10 maps will be on the tournament. For each tour we`ll choose one random map from Top-10 list. There are 6 tours planned(If there will be 64 members). Final and semi-final will be played on specific map. The tour map will be announced before tour starts.
Next thing is random opponent. You'll never know who is your opponent before the game starts. The winner of the first tour goes to the second tour, where he face random opponent again. Races are random too. There is no mirror matches.

My point of view is that the tournament without symmetric fights - it's not serious. If a player is forced to play for khraal and the other player for the Titans without mating symmetric battlefield, it means to put players in the notoriously unequal original position. Strange rules, strange tournament.

Non symmetric fights is actualy means random winner. Everybody knows that some races have advantage over other ones on many maps. For example, sapiens almost always wins khraals on Dead Monk, etc.
It's unfair rules and bad idea.

Na.. dont be so negative.. the concept should be tested. I think there are many players that just want it fast and fun.. and in some way it would remind of how random 1:1 works today.. and its not so bad talone. Dont think that all players see the game as you do.

Talone why always negative? why if one likes these rules you solve at all? let it be 2 versions of the tournaments. it will only add interest to the game!!!it is a good idea. I participate. will be fun

count me in. there should be however stated rules, procedures and tournament development in more details in first post.

map: decisions2 (by shmauk) - pretty fast map, no money penalty on first player, you get a decent 300 every turn (300-400 is optimum), 3 bases/player (2-5 is optimum in tournaments) and there is interesting positioning of forest and mountains for race ballance
