I would first like to thank the developers for all the work they put into this game; the recent updates have been awesome.
My idea is to be able to capture an allied base in team games. Sometimes one team member has the opportunity to take a base that would really be more advantageous to the other, but can't leave it for them because they would not be able to take it on the next turn. However, if it were possible to capture an allied base, the team could take the base without worrying about putting one of its members at a disadvantage.

Why not make it optional then? Choose whether you want it on at the start of the game.

Being able to capture your allies' bases would be excellent. It would also help that problem: a player quits, leaving a unit on his base. His team mates can't attack the unit to remove it and capture the base, but the enemy can. Game over. Badly.
So when a player quits, his units should disappear from the board, and his bases become neutral.
Or, any units left on bases self destruct.

Good idea. It should apply to shipyards too.
Sometimes my titan allies cap a shipyard in the front line.
Which was useless to them.
Since they can't fight close range against sap/kharl fleets.
However we need to have a measure to prevent abuses before applying this.
A requirement of permission from the owner for each ally capture should be good.
