I have a new idea, but this time it's on unit stats

How it works is that if you tap on a terrain or unit, there are cosmetic changes regarding to certain terrain, plain tiles remain unchanged tho. There are stat changes once you touch a unit in a terrain or touch the terrain itself from the map or from the info screen.

How it looks like:

Marine in a forest:


Tank in a swamp (or in this case, lava ):


Green bars represent added capabilities while red bars represent subtracted capabilities and movement cost

Pros:
Looks very nice
May be beneficial to new or young players
Just "makes a lot of sense"

Cons:
Not sure how much work to implement ?
Same info kept below with minimal math needed

Overall impression:
Depending on time requirement to implement I think this would be a great feature!

It's just some cosmetic feature, there would be nothing changed, only adding a more informative feature

Also, did the photoshopping myself (I have a mac )

I've dabbled in paint, and let me just say, that is a fine photo shop job there sir. Really looks great

Absolutely. I think my concern is just cost versus benefit. It's hard to gauge how useful this will be to a new player, aaaand we don't know how much work it takes to implement.

If the benefit were imagined to be medium/good and the time to implement were minimal then I would heartily say lets do it.

As is, the information is already on the same screen, and I imagine the effort needed to implement is somewhat involved. So while I do absolutely like the idea, I can't imagine wanting it to take precedence over several other known projects.

I hope that makes sense ...

I see what your saying, but this can't be that hard to implement. Looking at the attack form, terrain attack is already a variable in the system. It's just a matter of making blocks appear when the variable is higher or lower than 0.
