Infector Quest Prequel

30 round survival map
Play as FFA
---------
Story:
The infectors have been captured and are held captive by the sapiens on a military research island.

The sapiens allow the khraleans to live and reproduce on the island... it is unclear what the intentions of the sapiens truly are.

Attempts to escape the island are met with violence. Attempts to destroy the scientist who runs the camp are met with even greater hostility. Otherwise, the khraleans are regarded as unintelligent beasts, and when sapien troops fall prey to them, it is viewed as "progressive Darwinism" by the sapiens.
-------------

Rules:

1. The sapien player is the game master for this game.

2. Khralean players can occupy a city only when they kill a unit. You must write in chat "I killed this unit, I am occupying a city" ... otherwise you'll get exploded. Infecting a marine does NOT count as a kill.

3. If your Infector dies, you must surrender, and you lose the game.
4. Killing the scientist (engineer) may help you to advance to the Infector Quest. (See role explanations for more detail).

Players 2-8 are the khral players. They are secretly and randomly assigned roles(with goals and rules) by the sapien before the game begins.

You may not disclose your role until after the game is completed!!

SAPIENS will not attack your Infector unless he crosses onto or beyond a road tile (towards the middle, or towards the exit.)

Devoted Khral: 1
Guarantees a spot in Infector Quest by capturing and holding a sapien base (along with their original base) until the game ends. Also guaranteed a spot by killing the scientist. Otherwise, follows survivor rule. If he, at any time, for any reason, attacks a non traitor khral, he loses his spot in infector Quest. (Regardless if he captures a sap base or kills the scientist).

Traitor khral: (2)
He will turn on his comrades at the first opportunity. These players move onto Infector Quest by capturing another khralean base, holding onto it (and their original base), and surviving to the end of the game. If both traitors accomplish this, one player will be assigned to the evil team, and one to the good team.
To gain a spot as a good Infector in Infector Quest:
Can not kill an Infector or capture a khralean base at any time.
Must kill the scientist.
After killing the scientist can not attack any other khral for any reason.
Must survive to the end (at least one base and Infector)

Survivalist khral: 3
He may attack other khral when it benefits him. Moves on to Infector Quest by being one of the final remaining khral players, or by reaching the mountains at the end of the bridge to escape the prison. **If the traitor players are unable to capture a khralean base, the first eliminated survivalist will join the evil team in Infector Quest. (First Tiebreaker is killing the scientist. Second is number of bases owned. Third is value of their army)

Commander Khral: 1
He guarantees a spot in Infector Quest by ending the game with an army value equal to or greater than 7000. Gains nothing by killing the scientist.

Sapien rules:

Plays passively to start.
Will never attempt to capture harbors.
Tries to maintain Vision of the khraleans at all times.

Round 1-15:
So long as no player attempts to cross the bridge to escape, and so long as no player crosses the road towards the scientist, the sapien player does not attack the khraleans.

If the road is crossed, the offending player will be targeted by the sapiens until they are eliminated, or until the sapiens are eliminated.

Round 16-25:
At the start of each round, if the sapien player has lost more than 1 base, he attempts to retake control of the island - attacking as he chooses the khraleans and attempting to retake his base. Once all bases are owned, he returns to passive mode.

Round 26-30: attempts to eliminate the infectors and capture their bases.

At the end of the game:
Use these notes to determine who will play what role in Infector Quest:

Player 1 will become player 2 in Infector Quest (generally)

Did anyone kill the scientist? If they did, and if they survived (Infector and owned at least one base), they automatically proceed to Infector Quest.

Does the commander khral have >7000 credit army, its base, and the Infector still alive?

Did the devoted khral capture and hold a sapien base, as well as their own base?

Did both traitors meet their goals, or just one, or none?

Which survivalist players are still alive (both base and Infector)? Have any of them escaped? Of those which are still alive, who has the most bases, the most expensive army?

So if a khral player attacks another khral player are they traitor KHRAL? survivalist khral can also attack khral and not be traitor khral? Also can we build more infectors to decrease our chances of having to surrender?... do I understand that in first 15 rounds we can kill sapiens as long as we don't pass the road tiles? We won't get attacked by sapiens for this? If we kill engineer / scientist we will advance regardless to anything else that happens? Weather we surrender from infector death or not? ... khral 1234 are all different objectives depending on what we do and if we complete those objectives correctly we advance? On top we have hidden goals...hope ingot that all correctly... Looks really fun!!

Great questions!

So if a khral player attacks another khral player are they traitor KHRAL?
- nope. Survival khral can choose to attack another khral at any time. They have a different win condition is all. Survival khral risks being considered a traitor (and thus getting tag teamed) if they attack other khral.

survivalist khral can also attack khral and not be traitor khral?
- yep.

Also can we build more infectors to decrease our chances of having to surrender?...
- great question! I didn't think of this honestly. My gut is: nope, can't build any more infectors. We will run with that for this first game and see how it goes.

do I understand that in first 15 rounds we can kill sapiens as long as we don't pass the road tiles?
- correct!

We won't get attacked by sapiens for this?
- yep. That's right.

If we kill engineer / scientist we will advance regardless to anything else that happens?
- I will clarify in original post. I see there are two different statements about this. It will be on a role basis:
- Traitors: see description above.
- Devoted: "wins" (moves on) by killing scientist regardless of their survival
- Survival: gains top priority in moving on with the kill, BUT must also survive
- Commander: gain nothing from killing engineer.

Weather we surrender from infector death or not? ...
- yep. Surrender.

khral 1234 are all different objectives depending on what we do and if we complete those objectives correctly we advance?
- yep. That's about it!

On top we have hidden goals...hope ingot that all correctly... Looks really fun!!

Additional question:

What if a devoted khral kills a scientist and attacks a non traitor khral?
- depends on which they did first.... and on what they did to the non traitor khral. If they kill the Infector or capture the base, this is still a failure to be truly devoted. If they kill the scientist first and then kill a non essential khralean unit, that is OK.

Sorry another question. Sapiens will only kill infector if the infector crosses the road tiles or if any khral unit crosses the road tile?

ANY khral unit. That makes the sapiens very angry, escaping khrals and/or khrals getting too close to the scientist
