The +1 g. heavy idea would certainly be a big boost to sap vs. titan, in particular by taking away the speeder, but it doesn't feel like the right change. We certainly don't want marines to be any stronger against pinzers, for one.

The marine vs. mecha stat comparison is frequently made, but I think people tend to underestimate just what a difference 7 vs. 9 mobility makes. Play a few games of sap vs. titans on Jungle to see how much more dominant the marine is there.

Cpt.Hawaii & Waxoid you're right.
But from a consumer's viewpoint, I just can't help thinking
" C'mon I paid the same 100 credit.
Why I recieve just +2 mobility when the titan opponent get +1defence plus teleport ability,
isn't mine a little bit cheaper? "

It's difficult to measure whether +2 mobility deserve the same price.
Some maps like jungle, mobility work great while teleport is near useless.
Especially when there are engineers waiting for you.
But in the middle to large maps I think teleport work better.

Maybe shall we increase marine mobility to 10?
It may help reaching walker or retreating injured ones.

If it is changed
Krahleans:
wyrm get +1 more on aerial attack ( 10 to 11 )
infector gets +2 on mobility ( 6 to 8 )

Sapiens:
marine gets -1 aerial attack. ( 4 to 3 )

the sappiens can't win against an khrals
coz if to weaken saps, khral can easy win with mass swarmers + wyrms

@Nuell. Sapien actually still get slightly advantage against kharl, despite the series of weakening.
That's why I agree decreasing 1 marine's anti-air power.
But several weakenings make sapien far fall behind against titan.
I think if you take something from marine, you should give some smaller thing in return.
Unless marine will be underquality for its price.
And +1 mobility or defence are the smallest things you can make.

I really think marines are fine as they are. Sometimes it helps to understand things in specific situations. What makes marines so great with their mobility in my opinion deals with getting places fast to set up gangups, pressure defensive positions, or to meat shield very effectively from all over. For example, here are things they can do that a mecha can't do:

- jump over a mountain to plains
-jump over a swamp into plains (mechas must trudge through a swamp)
- jump into a mountain from 2 spaces away over a plains tile
- move 3 plains spaces
- move 2 forest tiles, or a forest and a base tile
- move a desert tile and another tile (including base or forest even) Mechas can only move through 1 desert tile every time
- In general, marines can pressure base steals far more effectively than mechas can.

Of course, much of these abilities contour to the flavor of the race. Titans turtle naturally anyway, but marines and Saps are a very powerful rushing race. In regards to mecha warping, it is generally nullified by the simple ability of saps to build engineers. Of course, very good titan players will still be able to use warp on occasion against a sap, but an equally good sapien player should be able to defend warp-ins quite effectively.

I often find the main time I use mecha teleport (esp. against saps) is to overcome their f'n slowness and get them into proper positions to block stuff. At which point it is just a liability, because they lose zone of control and ability to retaliate for a turn. Of course it's useful to teleport them to the back ranks for safety as well, but on the front lines it is often a bad sign positionally if you are finding yourself forced to use teleport to cover key tiles.

What about a sprint ability that is pretty much adds 3 or 4 mobility, but it can't attack, also, infected marine still has 4 aerial attack, that is way to unfair
