So i know I've asked this a number of times and i think it would be a really useful thing to have especially for the play option on the map editor. However starting as anything but player 1 seems low on the priority even though it would help create better tested maps.

I thought of a simpler implementation. There is a check done when you start a match that says "a player can not take more than one seat". You should simply remove this message and force the game to unrated and start the match. Post something in the global game chat saying this is a test only game because player x is in n positions.

If i can be in all positions then i can check things like titans won't get stopped getting to a base by a fast moving ant. I doubt you'd even need to stop the unicoins being given out as it is generally quicker just to watch a few ads.

I would much prefer the proper fix but this would be a good temporary solution.
