I wish I could just swap places of 2 units that can reach each other in a current turn.
For example, I have infantry units tightly packed together on some narrow passage. I want to swap front damaged unit with the fresh one from behind.

Its intriguing but I like the fact that it not that easy to cycle units and so you need to move your units correctly in sequence, leaving a little space too. This idea could also get very complicated with the different move styles of units too e.g. move after attack, marauder's double move.

in theory the idea is good... but i dont really think it would change much. this would be a big buff to titan and wont really help khral at all. the worst part about this in my opinion is it give you so many more attack options that at the top level of play it would mean even more attack trials to manipulate rolls.

I don't like the idea at all.
There are several maps with some mountains in the center or narrow passages.
With that función ,you propose, the player that reaches first those mountains/passage will hardly lose them anymore.
A clear no, from me.

This "switch place with another (friendly) unit" could be a special ability for some units. Maybe elite units can get some (minor) special abilities like these?
It could be also:
- immunity to be converted by an engineer (for infantry units)
- +1 movement range
- or +1 to heal
- ability to capture base
- immunity to plague
- give double resources if standing in a city square
...
