CTF map making contest

Many people say that CTF maps have no place in 1v1 ranked matches, but I believe it is possible!

I challenge you, the people of uniwar, to prove me right.

Rewards:
1st Place: 500 unicoins
2nd Place: 300 unicoins
3rd Place: 200 unicoins

Maps do not have to be new, they can be past creations that need a little love, but they must be 1v1. Maximum 1 map submissions per entrant.

MAXIMUM APPLICANTS IS 15 - first to sign up get a spot. (I don't want to grade a million maps, sorry

)

Map requirements:
Must be 1v1
Must be CTF
Must have Neutral CTF base in the field of play. (Not looking for a sudden death map)

Deadline: Submit a 'rough draft' by 9/23.

Final submission deadline: 10/15 (does not need to be the same map as the rough draft in any way shape or form. I just want to verify those who signed up are still participating.)

The grading is subjective in nature, so I may ask questions directly to the map makers about balance so that I do not improperly judge them (maybe even playtesting them myself), and may ask the mapmakers kik (consisting of many notable mapmaker names, including MasterYoda and Jeffph79) for confirmation of my opinions to reduce bias. I will not play favorites with anyone, everyone has equal opportunity. Feel free to make a joint submission!

Maps will be awarded a grade on the following scale:

Balance: /50
- Equal # of bases. (5)
- Equal access to uncaptured bases/cities. (15)
- Equal chance to win control of the major conflict areas. (10)
- No major advantages to any available race. (10)
- No major advantages to player 1 or 2. (10)

Enjoyability: /25
- Minimal chance of extended buildups (15)
- Interesting dynamics and conflicts (5)
- Everyone likes unique maps! (themes, styles, unlike most maps in ranked) (5)

Level of strategy: /25
- average rounds on the map (10) (target range 12-25)
- unit diversity (5)
- Not a "race" to the CTF base (15)

Bonus: /0
- Preset races (0)
- Any races (+5)

Total: /100

Send all versions of the maps to Duaneski as a personal message with the subject "CTF Map Challenge"

I never really looked for them but after a quick scan of the maps there does not seem to be many ctf maps even out their this could be intresting

O.k.what have you got against little bloody three ways. Regardless I'll work on a better binary map. Count me in.

Btw any idea if spooky will even look at the cap any basense to win bug? Xavi kinda shelved that bug fix

3ways have their time and place

i want to see a tourney or ranked worthy 1v1 map. So that's what I'm lookin for

As for the known CTF bugs. NFI. I would guess it isn't a priority. Applicants should keep this in mind when designing their maps. (Enemy bases which are too easy to cap, ending the game early, are probably something to avoid)
