Hello there! I think this game is a little bit like chess , why we don’t have some chess like mechanics ?

New units that could only move in straight lines could be interesting, but leave the current units alone.
I thought about a unit that fired in a straight line e.g. laser, damaging every unit in its path for several hexes. Or flamethrower hitting a triangle of tiles adjacent to the source.
Also weapons that are affected by train e.g. torpedo, could be blocked by reefs. Bopper could be blocked by mountains.
