Here's my suggestion for fine tuning uniwar :


Titan
assimilator - increase its defence to 1 and make UV hit buried ants.
eclipse - increase mobility from 10 to 12,increase ground light attack from 10 to 11,
and increase its ground heavy attack from 4 to 5 (marauder has 4).
But decrease eclipse aerial attack from 12 to 10.
Then eclipse should be more useful against ground units but not extremely strong against aerials.

Sapien
Battery - increase its range from 3-4 to 2-4. Today it has too tiny range to be called artillery.
Engineer - increase its mobility from 6 to 7, and reduce EMP cooldown time to 6 turn.

Kharlean (the overall strongest race today)
Pinzer - increase its aerial attack from 1 to 3 (like marine). Then it should make 1hp damage to copter in normal terrain.

They're easy to implement, and Uniwar will move a little closer to perfect balance.

About titan style is too defensive and turtling, I think it isn't a problem.
People are difference. Someone like defensive style - pick titan.
While the other like offensive style - pick sap or kharl.
If you make titan more offensive but expense its defence, it will be identical to sapien.

I think titan is strong already, I just don't pick them because I don't like its style.
Although kharl is the strongest race in my opinion, I still pick sap because I like sapien's gentleman style of battle.

Maps with multiple neutral bases are rarely balanced.

1. Multiple neutral bases in far&difficult to access position - favor titan.
Build a speeder early for vision, then teleport machas to the bases.

2. Multiple neutral bases in moderate or close distance.
2.1 Bases surround by forest/mountain - pick kharlean, their ants are the fastest footsoldier.
2.2 Bases surround by normal tiles or sand - pick sapien, spam maruaders to hold the bases.

But I think titan already too strong against sapien.
Main disadvantage of titan isn't it's weakness, but its incapable
to play in some maps like jungle or starvation.
While in some maps titan are extremely strong, like peninsular, thermophyllae etc.

I can play well when I pick titan, after I select the compatible maps.
The main reasons I don't like titan is its too defensive&boring.

I think tank and pinzer are OK.
Kharl vs Sap is already an exciting air combat.
In most map which marines can wall copters, Sap dominate.
But in some area which marines can't wall, garudas hunt copters.
On average, Sap get only a slightly advantage.

But I'm glad if you add more air power to tank and pinzer.
Because today when I play as kharl or sap in FFA,
I have to turn my strategy 180 degree when I build garudas and swarmers to fight sap opponent.
Then another titan player attack me from another side with eclipses, I'm severely disadvantage.
That why I prefer to pick titan in FFA, plasma tanks are strong against all units.

And although I speak as sap lover, batteries are really pathetic.
Their range should be 2-4 like hydronaught.

I'm playing team game as kharlean.
Every turn I send 1 ant to my friend as titan to assimilate them.
Then he bury&move them to opponent's walkers.
But he reluctant to pop-up and hit walker because afraid enemy's assimilator will re-assimilate these assimilated ants.
Can it be happen?

When I set up custom map and select 2player map, I can't pick any maps except the first one.
But after I use some filter then I'm able to pick maps.
Maybe it's because there are too many 2-player maps in the system.

But I really like using fun factor voted by players.
When you ask players whether they like the map, you're asking them to use their unique human quality to inform you.
It's a precious information you can't get it from any supercomputers.
So, please use it, with a few adjustments to the following human natures :
1. People tend to feel fun if they win, and feel bad if they lose.
2. Feeling from players who play with skill-approximated opponent can better reflect the real quality
than feeling from players who play with skill-differed opponent.



Here is my idea.
1.
Let players vote the map.

2.
If loser vote thumb-up , this positive vote is multiplied by 3.
If winner vote thumb-down , this negative vote is multiplied by 2.

3.
Then multiply each vote again by the skill-approximated factor ( x ).
If the player played with opponent which rating difference less than 100, then x = 2.
If the player played with opponent which rating difference is between 100-200 , then x = 1.
If the player played with opponent which rating difference is between 200-300 , then x = 0.5 .
If the player played with opponent which rating difference is more than 300 , then x = 0.25 .

If you add a restart button maybe sometimes I can't resist my bad soul in pressing it.
It's just too easy way to get unclean advantage and my good soul isn't strong all the times.

It's a quite severe flaw I think.
With this trick you don't have to guess what enemy hiding or whether your strategy will work.
You just do it in the real game then restart.

However I don't like to do this trick because my brain won't be exercised with this trick.
I choose this game since it's good for executive training and it's fun.

Then many players will use fast and high vision units like marauder or speeder moving at deep behind enemy line at possible.
To see what enemy hiding. Then restart and play again with much more information acquired.
Or they can test their strategies in real situation to find out whether it's work or not.
In my opinion it sound like cheating.

But I think titan fleet is the hardest for sapien, very hard.
Yes, if you fight a single titan ship, you may able to move close to it and shoot.
But smart titan player will cover a frontline ship with 2-3 ships behind, or walkers.

Fighting kharlean fleet as sapien is much easier than the opposite direction.
Destroyer is very strong against all kharl's units, whatever it's garuda, swarmer, wymp or pinzer.
You just spam destroyers, with 2 engineers making a repair station.
Remember * 2 engineers * not only one, it's critically difference.
And do good ship's rotation, then you'll be very fine against kharl.
But against smart titan, you must use every tactics sapien has.
And it still very difficult.

@Nuell. Sapien actually still get slightly advantage against kharl, despite the series of weakening.
That's why I agree decreasing 1 marine's anti-air power.
But several weakenings make sapien far fall behind against titan.
I think if you take something from marine, you should give some smaller thing in return.
Unless marine will be underquality for its price.
And +1 mobility or defence are the smallest things you can make.
