wookieontheweb wrote:Strong opinions for someone who registered their account 2 days ago! Have you even completed the campaign?
I am fairly sure I will be able to beat you without using any new units and I am no where near as good as Sims. Feel free to challenge me as Titan, I'll even choose Kharlean. Map "Round we go again". (or accept here and I'll set it up)
Assuming you don't want to pay real money, you can build the new units at the expense of watching an Ad, either in game as you buy the unit or by buying build unit tokens in the shop. You also get coins for completing the campaign.
Or you can continue to throw abuse at Sims and the Devs and see where that gets you.
Yes, please show me as well how the Guardian is op, I wanna know what I've been doing wrong all the time!

Chrome OS Version 60.0.3112.114
ARC (App Runtime for Chrome) Version 54.5021.629.0
Uniwar.apk Version 1.12.10
In a tournament team game the units lost are shown up correctly but the sum of both the number of units lost and the amount of credits lost is somehow shown up incorrectly. Just a minor one but well, might be worth mentioning (on iOS it works fine though )

yes I know that, I have purchased all of them myself (partially through earned, partially through purchased coins) except for the salamander, I just wanted to know if this was an issue about new accounts (since the game itself is for free now)

yes I see. I know that there is a lot of effort being made both in development and in maintenance of the game although it's hard for me to estimate the server cost. I think I didn't make my point clear though. Assuming my friend creates a new account, would this person see ads after each turn as well and if so, would a purchase make them disappear (because I didn't find a "remove ads" purchase in the ingame store)?

well.. while I like the idea of new races I can very well imagine that they would be a lot of work not only to implement but also to balance. Current balance changes are very carefully done and even though there are so few units introduced over what can be regarded as quite a long time it requires some time for itself to see how the new units affect the game. That being said I think that it would take another couple of years to get the game balanced out again once two new races got introduced. And I personally really appreciate the good balancing of this game. The fact that you have three very different factions at your disposal, all of which are viable on almost any map against every other race (with a fair few exceptions) is much more important to the playerbase I reckon, especially when talking about the very top of the leaderboard. If two new races happened to hit the board and the balancing would not be very carefully planned (which is impossible without having a long time of testing them for months or even years before official release) it would just make the game a lot one-sided towards the "stronger" races/factions and, as a result, boring.
But I understand your point on the money side of things. And this is a pretty relevant one I think. Although there are definitely a few ways how SHS are gaining money from IAP this might not be enough or even come to a halt as a matter of time. Might be. I don't know. I'm not part of the Uniwar/SHS team and I don't know their plans for the future. But what I think is more likely and a lot more risk-free to be released is new campaigns that maybe even let you dive deeper into the Uniwar background story (the campaign was pretty short on that part and didn't really tell a story instead of delivering brief contect for the reason why you were fighting your current opponent.). I see a lot of potential there and not too much effort either (Scripting for the mission events/objectives/bonus objectives/voicelines and maybe even multiple options). But currently there's a lot of stuff being worked on so I guess that will have to wait.

simsverd wrote:i looked at your profile.. and you have 28 games and 25 gameslots.. so its no wonder why you get ads
thanks for your answer but that's not the account I am talking about (I don't get ads on that one probs because tournament games don't count towards that limit regarding ads iirc). I was talking about a new account I created. My assumption currently is that because of the fact that I used the same device for that account that these games are counted towards my limit as well and therefore ads are shown to prevent an exploit of maybe creating dozens of accounts just to up the limit? If that is the reason would a new player creating an account on a "new" device also see ads? I'm asking because a friend of mine would like to dive into the game but isn't so keen on a game that shows ads after every turn taken. I hope you understand what I mean

Why do ads pop up every few turns despite the game number not being maxed out on a new account? Is this done purposefully and if so, which purchase will make this go away?

Exactly! Orange Khral looks pretty badass!
I think the number of people interested in this is much higher than the actual activity in the forum suggests as it's almost always the same few people posting in this forum :/

Honestly I would love that! What I'd love even more would be priorities so let's assume my favourite colour got picked I would then get my second favourite and so on.

If you don't own the guardian, that is

I agree, it does appear to be that way in the game, which is why I'm confused that the larger attack bonuses are doing less damage that the small attack bonuses. Further to your point, hitting the same spot seems to be a high bonus than attacking beside that spot next to where you hit last. So if the gameplay doesn't match the intended design, would this be a glitch?
I actually think that it is designed that way. Think about it. Take a Tank vs Tank combat for instance. Assume the defending tank turns to the direction where it has been attacked from. So the heaviest armour would be in the front. The back and the side would be very weak which would give the attacker a bonus if attacking from there. So what about the front? Well, I guess you might say that after the first attack from the front the tank has been weakened, maybe taken a couple of hits that left some weak spots in the armour plating. As for long range attacks the behaviour would be similar. And I guess if a tank got hit by an artillery unit that it would be hindered in its maneuverability as well if you think that there would normally be several artillery shells hitting the ground, leaving craters of destruction. But I'm starting to ramble.. I hope that makes sense

Edit: Chato Hill isn't even difficult against bugs as you can leave your sim in the forest and the underlings will simply run into it without even killing it. btw plasmas work great on that map to, you can build them all day long

Hitting the same space will give a gangup bonus of +2 same as if you would attack 2 tiles further around the target.

I personally like the rock-paper-scissor mechanic idea although it doesn't really fit the amphibious unit type of style. However I feel like the submarine should be the most efficient way of getting rid of subs. It just doesn't feel right that it's easy to reactively get rid of subs by building amphibious units rather than playing proactively and building some submersible units in anticipation of opposing subs.
btw glad to see the Kraken patched to 1 range underwater (it used to be 1-2 iirc which would be borderline game breaking)
