New units: offensive specialists with major limitations

Hi everyone! Amidst all the discussion of the new units - bopper, Borfly, and guardian - a key statistic of each was overlooked. You really cannot spam them and win. They are more like an offensive version of theengineer / assimilator / infector. Let me show you the limitation.

Bopper & Borfly - cannot attack after move. This is huge. The way to defeat a walker is to get inside its range. Even though they are cheap, you can't just have a line of bopper and Borfly. You need to have them defended.

Guardian - repair rate of zero. Zero!!! No healing it at all. Yes it can teleport to safety... But it can't heal back up. So watch out!!

I'm not saying these new units are not overpowered. Maybe we will figure out a strategy to take full advantage of them. After all, ranged attacks are a huge bonus in Uniwar. But it's crucial that you recognize these units as offensive specialists.

no attack after move is understandable, but no healing is unthinkable indeed, well unless the devs allow them to repair, which is good enough

To be fair, siege mode is a good one (I can feel that rush of the siege tank formation ), Borfly can bring in the power nearly anywhere, and Guardian is both a damage dealer and a shield at the same time, tho it can't simultaneously do both I think

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Use of new units
The new units are released publicly. We are just waiting for the iOS update to clear out before enabling them everywhere: in the MapEditor, Tournaments & Rated games.
Players who have not bought them will be able to use them for free in exchange for a video AD very soon (in about 1 week)

iOS players
Until the iOS update is available, iOS players are NOT able to access games or replay involving new units. For this reason, we are automatically extending the turn time on all games with iOS players every 24 hours. This is to prevent iOS players from being skipped or kicked until the iOS update is release. We hope that the iOS update will be available sometimes next week. Thank you for your patience.

Guardian's repair rate of zero is really weird.
It's not proper that the unit can't repair themself despite it's already stay resting.
And what's good for teleporting it to safety, when it can't be repaired anyway ?

With repair factor of zero mean you also can't repair it at the heal pad or use assimilator.

So I think it's better increasing its repair factor to 1 while decreasing its defence a little instead.

Otherwise 3 new units are interesting and should be funny to play.

Starryblink have you used the new units? The guardian is actually quite strong and complements a big weakness of Titans. It has high mobility and ranged attack yet it isn't as pricey as an eclipse. I don't think it is useless, and if they reduced the defense any further it would just die too quickly. I think we need to play with it for a while and try new strategies before we ask for changes.

I have a new unit challenge for you all. Play 3 matches on a map with bots. 1 for each race. All you do is spam new units no other units. See how you do. Personally i found borfly easy to win with. Guardian was near impossible.

It's very unrealistic but it very quickly gives you an idea of how these units work and what their pro and con are.

Good point Wooke. That's basically what I did at first, I shared those games on the chat. Very hard to win against the bot with only new units!

I wanted to add to my original point another key comparison between these new units and the original defensive specialists. Just like the originals, the new ones lose 8-10 HP when hit by a full strength enemy Walker / battery / wyrm. So you can try to move them in close, but if your enemy is turtling behind a strong wall, you will likely lose them before they can do any damage.
