I have been surprised with the number of scoring points gained or lost at the end of the games. On one hand, I have won by capuring all bases and destroying all enemy units and earned for example only 7 points. Next game, I surrendered as not all of my units were destroyed and my bases captured and lost 23 points.
I understand that the scoring level of the opponent compared to yours is a criteria. Could you tell me what are the other factors ? Does the time length have an influence ? The number of bases controlled ?
Thanks.

One big factor is your rank in relationship to your foes rank. If someone ranked below you defeats you, you may lose twenty some odd points. In a similar manner, if you defeat someone who is ranked significantly below you, then you gain few points.
