Why not set it up yourself?
Personally I don't have the time... studies

How many people should we take, the standard 64 perhaps?
I can set it up Nicko, but can you spread the word on uniwar chat?

I think we can have enough players for that if we spread it around in chat. We definitely should have at least 32 trustworthy players. What's with the trust anyway? We can just confirm the win with the loser.

Because you have to trust that the loser will say he lost
the winner will probably say he won anyways
unless we can get some form of proof? idk if that's possible

We can always ask to make a screenshot of the game result and post it here, or send it by email!
What I would do if I were you would be to think of rules you want to apply:
-do the contestants keep one race thorough the whole tournament or can they change? (no random, too bad)
-make a regular survey on the chat with an email to contact who will be the referee
-have a referee! (make sure you know him well!)
-have both players send the screenshots to that said referee or make a thread for them to post the pics
-the referee will make the game list and decide who plays against who, by being objective of course
-make a rule on the choice of maps, do the players both choose or does the referee does (I prefer the term gamemaster )
You will more than likely have to make a thread here to discuss it and post the rules, too bad you can't spectate
I wish you luck, I don't think I can participate although I'd love to!

Hey folks. A few questions and comments:
1. Are all welcome to join, even with low rating? I'm hovering around 1600 which I know is lame but I'd love to participate.
2. Screenshots? I don't even know how to do that. Maybe that's an iPhone versus Android thing (I'm using Android). Is that a feature in the game?

Yes, lawhawk, all are welcome to join as long as you are in the first 64 to ask to join the tournament. I'm just awaiting word from kralux to make sure he approves of this.
On iphone and ipod touch, you can take screenshots whenever you want, but not sure about android since I don't have one...
Thanks for the help Nicko. I appreciate it.

What maps?-
I think first of all we need to decide what maps are deemed "fair". And have a set map everyone plays on a particular round. Ie. Round 1: chato hill. Round 2: deselote. Ect...
Single elimination or best 2/3?-
If 2/3 I think again there should be a "set" of maps everyone plays for each round. I think the "Grandmaster" should choose the map set each round. This is to eliminate anyone complaining about how their opponet chose a "rigged" map.
Winner post results/loser verify-
if there is a disagreement a screenshot of the game would be the decider.
Time limit?-
what would the time limit be? Since it is a world wide game with 24 differnt time zones, two players may have a schedual conflict causing a need for the time limit to be 12h+. This is going to considerably legenthen the time between games (people who are waiting for there next opponets game to end) and the entire tourny itself.
And many other aspects that need to be adressed before this tournament is started. There should be an "official" rule-set published so the joiners kno exactly what to expect when they join.
I will be more then happy to be the referee if everyone would help me decide on a "map set" for the tournament... Or I could just state my opinions to the referee... Either way....
|
Good luck, Have fun!
My biased opinions are open-minded.

Thanks for the input Sphink.
I agree with time limit; it should definitely be at least 12 hrs. probably 1 day.
I have already PM'ed Kralux about map choice, and I hope he gets back to me soon.
After I get Kralux's approval, I will publish the rules in a new thread here.

Yes and 1 round someone plays as blue the next round the other player plays as blue
if it gets to round three(3)...should we just let the original blue player start as blue once more?

idont get you Nixflix....
You're saying that it shouldn't be single elimination?
Because what happens if two blues win and face each other?
